We could not be prouder of our own Lisa Lopez Simon on receiving her PMP certification.

Lisa has been with our team 4.5 years. She handles scheduling and logistics for the ISS (Integrated Security Solutions) team, making sure the parts and tools are where they need to be, when they are needed. In addition, she manages her own projects (5 currently). To say she’s a multi-tasker would be an understatement.
Lisa Tells About Her Experience
“I submitted my application to sit for the test the beginning of 2020 thanks to my experience Project Managing at Unified Technologies. It took me about 8 hours to enter the information necessary, and once the Project Management Institute (PMI) said I met the requirements I began to study.
However, life got in the way, so I found myself studying off and on throughout the year. I had to request an extension of my application because I didn’t feel ready to take the test by the end of last year and that lead to another challenge. The test drastically changed January 1 to also include not only predictive, but agile and hybrid approaches.
I decided to take a PMP study class that helped me tremendously but pushed out the test twice before I finally sat for it on July 8th of 2021.
The exam was comprised of 180 questions to be completed in approximately 4 hours with two 10 minutes breaks. I took advantage of the breaks because the air conditioning was broken in the test center and I had to cool off, so I didn’t pass out; yet another challenge.
I was never so happy to see the words “Congratulations” on a screen! Somehow, I managed to test above average in all the “new” categories, people, process and business environment. I’m hoping to bring a lot of this knowledge to the table in my everyday work environment here at Unified as a Project Manager on the ISS Team.”
