February’s Employee Spotlight features Hunter Harper, one of our Sales Consultants. Hunter joined the Unified team in November of 2016. He has become a UT ambassador for Boys and Girls Haven, championing many of the events and fundraisers for this worthy cause. Here’s a little more about Hunter in his own words.
Tell us a little bit about the type of work you do at Unified Technologies and your job responsibilities.
I am a Sales Consultant. My job is to cater telecom and infrastructure/security solutions around the needs of the partners we serve.
When you aren’t at work, what keeps you busy?
My 1-year old son, Hayden, and girlfriend, Stephani, are my life and occupy most my time outside of work.
Have you always been in this industry? If not, what brought you where you are today?
I am new to telecom as of November of 2016, but have been in sales my entire professional career, in various industries. Office Hardware and Equipment, Small Business Recruiting, Professional Soccer and Home Improvement were industries I held sales jobs in, previously.
What’s one thing you love about what you do for a living?
I love the culture at Unified. Someone once said to me, “if you take a job for money, you’ll leave that same job for money. However, if you take a job based on their culture, you will love what you do, and money will follow.” I am a big believer in that philosophy and UT has exceptional culture…stronger and better than any company I’ve ever been around in my life.
What you do for fun or to unwind?
Soccer, golf, poker, yoga, cooking and winning Fantasy Football titles annually are some of my hobbies.
If you could do one thing for a living that had nothing to do with your current job, what would it be?
What can I say…anyone that knows me would tell you that my greatest passion is soccer. Would love to have played professionally but UT is lucky, I wasn’t quite good enough. 😉
Is there something fun or interesting that you’d like people to know about you?
I was Governor of Kentucky at one point in my life. Well, technically I served as Governor of Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA) and I was 14 but let’s not get caught up in details.
Favorite food or snack
I’m a simple man…give me some wings or pizza (and good beer) and I am a happy dude.
