In July we posted a blog about St. Jude’s Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer. Well, the walk is upon us. In fact, it’s this Saturday, September 24th at the new Broad Run Park, 10899 Bardstown Road.It starts at 9:00 AM with registration, etc. at 8:30.
As I mentioned in my previous blog, we at Unified have chosen to participate for a lot of reasons. First of all, our 64 employees are very blessed to have healthy children and grandchildren. We have not needed St. Jude’s the way some families have. And for that, we are grateful. But someone very close to our team here at Unified knows first-hand what an amazing place St. Jude’s is. Angie Sullivan has been working with us for almost as long as Unified has been in business. She has been our account rep from Allegra Marketing and is also part of a network group created by Brian Goul, one of our Louisville account reps.
Angie has a son, Joey. Joey developed a brain tumor in 7th grade and spent a lot of time at St. Jude’s. Happily, Joey is now a freshman in college in Florida.
Here is a link to our team page. If you would like to walk with us on Saturday morning we would love to have you join us. If you can’t walk but would like to donate, that would be wonderful. Click here to donate.
If you plan to walk with us let me know (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I will bring a ‘Unified for Joey’ shirt for you on Saturday morning.
The goal of this is to end Childhood Cancer for good. And that is definitely a very good thing.
