A Grand Slam Relationship

Employee Spotlight | Chad Acree

Chad Acree is part of Unified’s Accounting Department. He has been with the company since December of 2012. He won the Accounting Core Value award at this year’s company banquet. Here’s a little more about Chad, in his own words.

Tell us a little bit about the type of work you do at Unified Technologies.

dI’m the Senior Corporate Accountant and Human Resources… the Money Man.

List out a few of your job responsibilities.

Typical work involves processing payroll for our employees, working on monthly financials, filing taxes, and overlooking the Human Resources dept. development and implementation. I work closely with all of our departments and employees which makes my job always exciting.

When you aren’t at work, what keeps you busy?

My mini-me’s, friends and family mostly. l’m always finding a project to do or something to get into. Sitting still isn’t my strong suit. I tend to go where the wind takes me. We’ll see how the new GoPro works out this year.

Have you always been in this industry? If not, what brought you where you are today?

I was in every position in banking, from management to investment sales, until I decided I needed something different. A few years ago, I took time away from work and bet my money on the stock market for a couple of years. A friend of mine knew our Controller was looking to grow his department. He called, so I said “Ok, let’s do this.”

What’s one thing you love about what you do for a living?

I work for a company that’s always growing and changing. With that, I don’t always know what my day will be like. Which to me is exciting. I interact with every person in our company and get to solve opportunities every day. Always finding an opportunity to do something different and better, while being a part of something BIG. Not to mention I get to work with my friends.

What you do for fun or to unwind?

I’m always with my friends finding something to do. My kids are my mini-me’s and we are always getting into something together. I’d be lost without them. If I need some “Chad Time” I find myself picking up an instrument or working on a new project.

If you could do one thing for a living that had nothing to do with your current job, what would it be?

Spiderman. Assuming the position is still available.

Is there something fun or interesting that you’d like people to know about you?

Always hard to answer. Well, I have more hobbies than any one person should. However, a lot of people don’t know that I can play 8 different instruments. I was also highly competitive in mixed martial arts, and have a secret YouTube channel.

Favorite food or snack

Breakfast. Sometimes I’ll eat breakfast for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wait, Chinese. If only there was a Chinese breakfast I could get into!

Family info

I was born and raised in Oldham County, with my twin brother and older sister. I have three kids, Hanie Lee, Jack, and my youngest, Jakey who keeps me grounded and always moving.
