Since it’s Derby Week we thought we would share a story with you about the wonderful things horses can do…besides running in a world famous race on the first Saturday in May.
Unified Technologies recently partnered with Green Hill Therapy in Louisville to design and install a new NEC telephone system at their facility on Long Run Road. Green Hill Therapy specializes in hippotherapy because they believe in the healing power of the horse. When a child receives therapy on horseback, they are exposed to more than 3,000 repetitions per half hour created by the rhythmic movements of the horse. The sensory input is key to helping kids improve neuromotor function, strength, flexibility, balance, posture, coordination and speech. Children who come to Green Hill for therapeutic services spend 30 minutes on the horse and 30 minutes in the clinic. Director Lee Ann Weinberg worked closely with Unified’s Account Manager, Brian Goul, to find a good solution to Green Hill’s communications needs. We asked Lee Ann a few questions about choosing Unified. Her answers ….
What drew your company to make a connection with Unified Technologies?
Unified has a great reputation in the community and we needed a turnkey solution for a new business phone system to help us build capacity in our organization.
Tell us about your company and what you do.
Green Hill Therapy provides physical and occupational therapy in two unique environments. We treat kids in the pool with our aqua therapy program at The Home of the Innocents and we treat kids in our arena, using the horse as a tool for therapy (hippotherapy). We serve children with special needs including autism, down syndrome and cerebral palsy as well as a host of other medical issues.
