Unified Technologies and Louisville Bats Baseball

A Grand Slam Relationship

This month’s spotlight is on Helen Clasby. Helen is a Project Manager and has been with Unified since the beginning.

Tell us a little bit about the type of work you do at Unified.

I am a Project Manager here at Unified Technologies, which allows me to care for our customers, which is what makes my job so wonderful.

What are some of your job responsibilities?

Some of my responsibilities are: Once a sale is made one of our 8 PM’s are then assigned to care for this customer until the project is complete. This includes assisting the customer, or in some cases actually handling the addition of a new carrier (telephone lines), working with the Data Carrier, gathering the program for the new system, training and follow-up after the install.

When you aren’t at work, what keeps you busy?

My husband, Buzz, and I are always doing work around the house, building, remodeling, landscaping.

Have you always been in this industry?

I have been in the telecommunication business since 1976, and always in Customer Service. There is nothing better than knowing at the end of the day, you were able to assist or make a difference in your customers business or help to fix an issue they may be experiencing. Knowing that I have a great team that always has my back, makes my job so much easier.

What’s the one thing you love about what you do for a living?

I love working with our customers. Over the many years I’ve been in this business I’ve met so many great people, and have built many great relationships.

What do you do for fun or to unwind?

I love to read, shop (with a capital S) and spend time with my family, especially my grandson.

If you could do one thing for a living that had nothing to do with your current job, what would it be?

If I had chosen a different career, it would have been to be a photographer. I’m not good at it, but I envy those that are. Oh and a singer! I can’t carry a tune, but I love a great singing voice.

Something fun or interesting about me?

That’s a tough one. People should know I was meant to be a ‘Mimi’. Being a grandmother is the best! I also cry at sad movies.

Side Note – Helen cries at just about anything including our Friday morning meetings. She has a big heart and cares deeply for those around her. Maybe that’s why she was the first ever recipient of what is now called the “Helen Clasby Core Value Award”.

Family info

Born in San Bernardino, California (California Girl), I was 1 of 5 children, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. My husband (Buzz) was an aircraft mechanic on the C141 aircraft in the Air Force when we met and married. Once out of the service we moved to Louisville, which is his hometown. We have two wonderful daughters, Melissa Johnston, and Tamara Clasby and a grandson, Cole Johnston.

Thank you for taking the time to read and learn about our employee, Helen Clasby! We love her and can promise you that if you are ever fortunate enough to do work with her in the future, you will love her too! If you need a communication system for your business, let’s talk!
