Since Aaron Boyer joined the Unified family in the fall of 2014, he has become an indispensable asset to the sales team. He spends his days building solutions for the team to present to their respective customers and prospects. His attention to detail in making sure the necessary components are in place helps guarantee a smooth installation. He is also tasked with creating Visio diagrams so companies can visualize proposed networked solutions. His mastery of Excel and other programs has made Unified’s sales teams’ lives much easier. Here’s a little more about Aaron, in his own words.
Tell us a little bit about the type of work you do at Unified Technologies.
I spend most of my time assisting sales reps in putting quotes and network diagrams together or improving the tools that we use to put pricing together.
When you aren’t at work, what keeps you busy?
Michelle and I have 5 kids in the house ranging in ages from 11mo – 16 yrs. So we seem to be going to pick up someone at school, or making supper. The 2 youngest are foster children so they have their own appointments each week which keeps us busy as well.
Have you always been in this industry?
I’ve been in the telecom industry for close to 16 years. Prior to that I was a Marine, a computer programmer and then an IT manager.
What’s one thing you love about what you do for a living?
I really enjoy being able to make it easier for the sales staff that I support to be able to do their jobs more efficiently.
Tell us a little bit about what you do for fun.
My weekend fun usually involves going for a long run in the morning and in the afternoon working my part-time job as a Licensed Massage Therapist.
If you could do one thing for a living that had nothing to do with your current job, what would it be?
Teach, I’m not sure what I would teach, but I’ve always enjoyed learning and sharing that knowledge.
Is there something fun or interesting that you’d like people to know about you?
I have run 2 Marathons (26.2 miles) and 2 Tough Mudder (10-12 mile obstacle course) races. Marathons were done 20 years apart and the one I did when I was 39 was faster than the one I did at 19.
Favorite food or snack?
Just about everything, I seem to eat too much as it is. I don’t know that I have a favorite, but when I have an opportunity I seem to choose a Clark Street Hot Dog at Lonnie’s Best Taste of Chicago over in St Matthews. Not the healthiest of choices, but I don’t get over there that often.
My wife, Michelle and I have two sons, Caine and Tyler, and a daughter, Rachel. We currently have 2 foster sons in our care.
