Andrea Overton is an account rep in Unified’s Louisville office. She’s UT’s very own ‘Elf on the Shelf’. Though she’s pint sized, she has a huge heart. She’s always quick to volunteer for every fund raiser or company project. She just recently organized a coat drive and spent Thanksgiving morning distributing the collected garments to the homeless and needy in Louisville.
Here’s a little more about her…in her own words.
1. List out a few of your job responsibilities.
I meet with potential clients to get to know their business and do a full discovery of how they operate in order to implement a telecommunications platform that will bring value to the growth and success of their business.
2. When you aren’t at work, what keeps you busy?
Hauling my boys around from baseball to basketball and trying to catch a UofL game in between.
3. Have you always been in this industry? If not, what brought you where you are today?
I have always been in the business of relationships, but I am very new to the telecom world. I sought this company out due to the culture that Unified Technologies has created. As soon as I walked through the front door, I knew I wanted to be a part of this team.
4. What’s one thing you love about what you do for a living?
I love people. I love building new relationships.
5. Tell us a little bit about what you do for fun.
Well, it’s not always FUN, but my husband and I, along with our two boys and a couple other family members, run a booth at the St. Matthews Farmer’s Market preparing and serving farm fresh breakfast burritos every Saturday morning from May-Oct. It’s a lot of work but we have a good time and have built a pretty strong customer base.
6. If you could do one thing for a living that had nothing to do with your current job, what would it be?
I would be an Event Coordinator for a nursing home. I absolutely adore the elderly.
7. Is there something fun or interesting that you’d like people to know about you?
This is a loaded question….I will never have the same hairdo longer than a couple of months. However, you’ll always recognize me due to my small stature and spunky personality.
8. Favorite food or snack
I have to pick just one? Sushi
9. Family info
I have two boys and a step daughter. Ryann, my step daughter is 19. She is a hostess at J Alexander’s. Tyus is my 11 yr old. He is a 6th grader in the MST program at Meyzeek and just made the basketball team! My youngest son is Makai. He’s 7 and a second grader at Dunn Elementary. He plays travel baseball for Lyndon. My husband Donny is a Funds Administrator for Hilliard Lyons. He is the rock of our family and it doesn’t hurt that he’s an amazing cook!
