Ashley Pennington is one of the Project Managers in our Lexington office. She’s coming up on her 2 year anniversary with the company. She joined Unified because her aunt, Cecy Haney, thought her skills and personality would be the perfect fit for the role she plays today. Cecy is the Vice President of Sales for the Lexington office. Good call, Cecy.
As Ashley describes her role at Unified, she explains, “I am a project manager, your one point of contact after we gain your partnership. I gather all information regarding the call flow of a customer’s business. The project managers coordinate with carriers on behalf of the customer, program the phone system, and train the end users on multiple applications.”
To get to know Ashley a little better, we asked her a few questions. Here are her responses.
1. What’s one thing you love about what you do for a living?
Meeting new people. I would say just about every week I’m introducing myself to someone new. It’s fun seeing those people outside of work and knowing I may have made their lives a little bit easier with a new phone system.
2. Tell us a little bit about what you do for fun.
I teach dance to 2 – 5 year-olds twice a week. I love all types of music and enjoy going to concerts. And you better believe if there is a UK game on we are watching it.
3. If you could do one thing for a living that had nothing to do with your current job, what would it be?
I have expensive taste in food and always thought it would be fun to get paid to eat at new restaurants and write reviews about it.
4. Is there something fun or interesting that you’d like people to know about you?
Interesting – I was 1 in 40,000 to suffer from Amniotic Fluid Embolism while giving birth to my son last December. I’m very thankful to still be here today.
Fun – I was on the University of Kentucky Dance Team.
5. Favorite food or snack
Chips and Dip. At family gatherings we will have 10 different versions of this. And we have many of these gatherings!
6. When you aren’t at work, what keeps you busy?
Being a Mom for a 10-month-old. Can take my eyes off him for a split second!
7. Family Info
Born and raised right here in Lexington. Youngest with 2 older brothers. Have known my husband Andrew since the 1st grade (met on the school bus). After college, we started dating and have been married for almost 4 years. Last December we brought a beautiful baby boy, Avery, into this world. Have a cat named Reese who acts like a dog.
And if Ashley looks a little familiar to you it may be because you’ve seen her on the side of a Southern Belle truck going down the highway sipping a big glass of milk. Or perhaps you caught an Indi film called Interception that had Ashley in a starring role. Yup, she’s probably our most famous employee here at Unified!
