This month our Customer Spotlight is shining on Service First Logistics. Service First Logistics manages freight and logistics. They are responsible for moving things across the country and deal with customers who need something moved as well as the truck and rail lines who move it.
Service First Logistics began in 2011 and has quickly become a major player in the freight brokerage industry. Their 54 employees service over 500 customers across the US and Canada. Their headquarters in Auburn, Michigan and their office in Cincinnati, Ohio are connected with ShoreTel platforms we installed in the summer of 2014.
Their goal is to have multiple offices and several hundred employees in the next five years. That’s pretty ambitious but their CEO believes it’s attainable by maintaining the highest service levels in their industry. SFL CEO Royce Neubauer plans to build the company by hiring the right people to fit their culture. His philosophy is to give back to the community and SFL’s employees. The company participates in a host of community service projects and gives a quarterly award to the employee who shows the most teamwork and effort. They also hold weekly employee appreciation lunches.
Service First Logistics and Unified Technologies are similar in may ways. We both started around the same time with very little and have grown to around 60 employees in 2 locations by concentrating on providing great service. The goals and standards set by SFL are the same that we here at Unified constantly strive to achieve.
