This month’s spotlight is shining on Lexington, Kentucky and Dell Link. Dell has been a part of the Sales Team in Unified’s Lexington office for more than five years. She entered the world of telecommunications in 1983 and, in her own words, has been hooked ever since.
She was born and raised in Bardstown but has called Lexington home for more than 30 years. She has a ‘down home’ way about her that her customers love. When conducting business, Dell is much more likely to give a hug than a handshake. And this year she has already exceeded one million dollars in sales thanks to the relationships she builds and nurtures with each of her customers.
When Dell is not working, she loves spending time (whether face to face or face-time) with her family. She has a daughter, two sons, three granddaughters, one grandson and one great-grandson.
To get to know her a little better, we posed a few questions to Dell. Here are her answers:
What’s one thing you love about what you do for a living?
I’m all about customer service and every day Unified Technologies provides me with the tools and “team” to help me put a smile on our customers’ faces.
What do you do for fun?
Family, friends and Herrington Lake. My friend Skip and I rent a cabin overlooking the lake. We go out riding in our pontoon and tie up with other boats to float and chat….very relaxing!
If you could do one thing for a living that had nothing to do with your current job, what would it be?
I always wanted to be a nurse but I was too hyper to sit down long enough to invest the brain power required. I was known as “Nurse Betty” while caring for my (now deceased) parents.
Is there something fun or interesting that you’d like people to know about you?
I like to sing (but can’t). I love to smile (and my deep smile lines prove it). I have just a few years left before I will be retiring (time to let the spring chicks take my place) and my favorite motto is “fake it till you make it”. I think I’ve done a pretty good job of that!
Favorite food or snack?
I absolutely love lamb on the grill.
