When we partner with a company, we try to do more than just design and install telecom equipment. We strive to be a true business partner in any way we can. This weekend that idea of partnership was taken to new depths (so to speak). Unified Technologies’ own Mike Gabhart joined Champion Trucking’s Russell Miller to help raise money for Special Olympics through the Polar Bear Plunge.
Mike joined Russell’s group, The Ice Socks, to raise more than $62,000.00 for the cause. The event raised nearly $170,000.00 for Special Olympics. Russell, alone, raised more than $10,000.00 by himself. Wow. That’s impressive.
While we supported them in their fund raising, no one else here at UT was courageous enough to bear the conditions and jump into the freezing waters. Kudos to those that did. Maybe next year we can get a few more to join them as they have committed to do it all again in 2015. Congratulations to all.
