ShoreTel Receives Nemertes Research PilotHouse Top Provider Award for IP Telephony for Eighth Year in a Row

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug 02, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) — ShoreTel(R) SHOR +0.46% , the leading provider of brilliantly simple IP phone systems with fully integrated unified communications (UC), today announced that, for the eighth year in a row, it has received the highest ratings for IP telephony products from IT decision makers in the Nemertes Research annual PilotHouse Awards report.

The high ratings earned ShoreTel the Nemertes PilotHouse Award for Top IP Telephony Provider among Market Challengers. Nemertes, an independent research firm based in Illinois, received ratings for 22 IP telephony vendors and determined the award solely on the views and experiences of more than 2,000 actual users of IP telephony systems.

ShoreTel’s overall score of 4.32, was above all vendors examined.

Customers rated their providers on a scale of 1 to 5 in the following categories: Technology, Customer Service, and Value. ShoreTel scored above a 4 rating in all categories. Nemertes analysts also conducted in-depth conversations with a subset of IP telephony decision-makers to understand the reasons behind the results.

— Technology: Technology ratings examine how customers view sophistication, features and implementation of the product. ShoreTel received a rating of 4.18 for technology. The report states, “ShoreTel has kept pace with technology innovation, invested in and integrated mobility into its platform through its Agito acquisition, and provides the integrated UC functionality including conferencing and high-quality desktop video that its IP telephony customers want.”

— Customer Service: Customer-service ratings look at technical support, responsiveness to deployment issues, sales support and general customer care. ShoreTel received a 4.18 rating for customer service, surpassing last year’s score of 4.10, with the report noting that ShoreTel has built its brand on solid customer service.

— Value: The value rating measures what customers think about what they get for their money. With a score of 4.65, ShoreTel received the highest score of all the IP telephony vendors in any market category. The report cites IT professionals feel the solution is affordable and easy to implement and operate. Respondents told Nemertes they “get a good bang for their buck” and the IT director of a midsize transportation company said plainly, “I like the simplicity.”

Unified Technologies presents at 2011 Annual KALFA Conference & Exhibition

Following an invitation by Executive Director of Kentucky Assisted Living Facilities Association (KALFA), Chet Mitchell, Unified Technologies presented to the attendees of the 2011 Annual KALFA Conference & Exhibition.  Unified was asked to present on Innovative Products that Increase the Bottom Line.  The conference was held on May 18, 2011 at the Hurstbourne Holiday Inn & Conference Center.

Unified Technologies’ Vice President of Sales, Robb Bashore and Sales Consultant, Todd Doyle; spoke to the group about how choosing the wrong partner for innovative products can actually hurt your bottom line.  However, choosing the right partner to help your organization can have rippling positive effects for years to come.

Bashore and Doyle shared with the audience how important it is to understand your total cost of ownership regarding technology products and examining that cost over a 5 – 10 year period.  They went on to emphasize how important it is to be sure any new technology product introduced to employees will be easily adopted and embraced by those employees.  Equally important is the feedback from the provider’s customer base regarding the company and the technology they’re representing.

Bashore shared how Unified Technologies’ customers rave about their ShoreTel Communications System and how easily it has been adopted into our customers’ environments due to the simplicity of the technology for the end users.   Bashore also shared how Unified Technologies’ Surveillance and Structured Cabling division is helping organizations protect their property and give proper access to the appropriate individuals based on the pre-set criteria.

Unified Technologies’ Completes ShoreTel Implementation at Kentucky’s 2nd Largest Credit Union

After thoroughly evaluating communication solutions from ShoreTel, Cisco, and Avaya; Kentucky’s 2nd largest credit union, Commonwealth Credit Union, awarded Unified Technologies a contract to replace their Avaya platform with the ShoreTel IP Platform.  Following several months of information gathering, planning, and project management; the new solution was implemented and has been operational for over a month now.
