The Frankfort Plant Board’s customers should experience a higher level of customer service once the new technology is in place.  The statistics and real-time reporting provided by the new software will give the board much needed information so that any concerns about hold times or challenges reaching a live person will be eliminated.  The new solution is also very easy to manage and will allow a quick change in call routing and handling as outages and emergencies arise.

To start off the event we had a “Big Head” of Mike created.  you may have spotted it in the student section of the UofL versus DePaul basketball game.

The festivities began with a wonderful buffet and a bar that featured “The Fish”:  a signature drink featuring Woodford, Chambord, Triple Sec and diet Sierra Mist (don’t knock it until you’ve tried it) from the bartender on staff.

The roast, or “Fry” as we like to call it featured several “Fish Stories” from some of the Unified employees.  Mike’s friend from college told some tales that made a few jaws drop.  Michael Gabhart recreated the famous “Fish Boot Camp”; white board and all, and Teri U’Sellis read a “Top 10 List”.  Paul Schulten closed the meeting with more funny stories and jabs before turning the microphone over to Mike for a few parting shots.  We laughed ‘til our faces hurt.

There’s no better way to combat the stress from a year of hard work than an evening of serious laughter.  Try it sometime.

Brian and his wife, Cassie, have been going through the adoption process for about one year now, and along with their two sons, have remained steadfast and strong. Thus, the exciting news about their baby boy gave us all a renewed spirit during the end-of-year scramble and hectic holiday season.

A second surprise came to the Borgman family over the holidays when the Unified Technologies’ team decided to honor the Borgman family with a special gift. At the company Christmas party, the Borgmans were presented with a cash gift to help their two sons go to Ethiopia with their parents for the adoption. The young Borgman boys have been raising their own funds for the trip and were thrilled to have the additional help from the Unified team. Both boys sent wonderful handwritten thank-you notes to the Unified employees expressing their great appreciation for the Christmas gifts that will help them meet their new baby brother very soon.

The gift to the Borgmans from the Unified team was part of the annual collection by employees during the holiday season. Typically, the team has adopted a family in need and purchased gifts and necessary items. This year, the team was not only able to adopt a deserving local family, they were also able to make a gift to assist the Borgman family with their own adoption.

Mobile use surpasses print for first time

People are spending more time on their mobile devices than with print media for the first time, according to a report by market-research firm eMarketer.

In 2011, the average adult consumer said they were on their mobile device for 65 minutes a day, versus 44 minutes with print media — 26 minutes with newspapers and 18 minutes with magazines, according to a Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal report.

Last year, both mobile and print accounted for 50 minutes of an average user’s time. The year before, print accounted for 55 minutes and mobile for 39 minutes.

TV and video are No. 1 and have grown in the amount of time being spent by users, to 274 minutes from 267 minutes .The Internet is No. 2, growing from 146 minutes to 167 minutes. Radio is No. 3 but dropped from 98 minutes to 94 minutes.
